Profile:
Patrick Clarke is one of the most experienced landscape and garden designers in the UK. He draws on a background in landscape architecture, planning and urban design studied at University of Greenwich, University College London and Oxford Brookes University and twenty five years of designing and making gardens and landscapes.
Growing up in the rich natural landscape of the Peak District he observed his Grandfather and Father, both keen amateur gardeners, turn a rough acre of pasture and building plot into a thriving family garden and potager and learned to understand the essential connection between nature and cultivation.
His work pulls on an understanding of the deep connectivity between our lives and the landscape which we inhabit. Patrick explores the past and the surrounding vernacular to inform the delivery of finely detailed and beautifully crafted designs.
Patrick is the Lead Tutor on the Diploma in garden design at KLC in Chelsea, London.
His designs have collected several awards both at home and overseas, including two gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show.
